Bermuda Adventure 2024 - Day 6

We are once again at sea. Our ship cast off at 7:00 am on Friday and we will dock in NYC at 7:00 am on Sunday. We have two days at sea. One fact I failed to mention is Bermuda is on Atlantic time. It is one hour ahead of eastern time. We will be at sea for 47 hours. We are cruising at 15 knots compared to 21 knots on the way to Bermuda. The fuel burn on the return trip is much improved.

This is our current favorite photo. It’s OK for grandparents to be silly with grandkids. .

Another of our favorite photos. That wine glass can hold a full bottle of wine.

You know you are having fun when your water shoes are soaked, covered in sand and hanging on a chair on your balcony. Those shoes will go into a plastic bag to travel home.

Life onboard ship at sea is relaxing. There are 100 things to do or you can do nothing at all. Alison was up and out early to claim and defend three chairs at the pool. Only the early bird get pool chairs. Well done. Jack, Eleanor and Parker spent the morning and early afternoon in the pool and giant water slide. Papa picked up Parker for some quiet time out of the sun. That means playing games on his iPad and singing while Papa played his ukulele. He has now learned all the words to MTA Charlie by the Kingston Trio.

After quiet time we climbed to deck 18 on the very top deck of the ship to play mini golf. Parker made up his own rules and we aimed for any hole he chose. Holey Moley.

The dads slipped away to attend a beer tasting seminar at the Brewery. We sampled 10 different types of beer. A grand way to spend an afternoon.

The pool deck is jam packed. Not many people go in the adult pool. Most people are sunbathing. There is bar on the pool deck. The hot tubs are very crowded with people drinking as they relax. I did not go in the hot tubs.

On the next to the last night of the cruise the grandparents volunteered to take all the grandkids to dinner so the parents could have a night out on their own.

Before dinner we went to a kids Dance, Dance Revolution contest. Parker danced in the aisle like no one was watching. On the last round Jackson decided to join the competition and did great.

Dinner was in the Garden Cafe. Priscilla is Jack’s favorite so she put Jack to bed. I put Parker and Eleanor to bed. It was a good night for everyone.

Here is a photo of a photo taken on the ship. We have the whole fam damnily on the steps. We purchased 12 professional photos from the ships photographers.

I decided to send this blog page a day early. Tomorrow’s blog might be a little thin. Enjoy.
