Key Lime Sailing Club - Finis

Today we say farewell to the Key Lime Sailing Club. We had a lot of fun. Full access to an unlimited supply of water toys including the Catalina 22 is awesome. The accommodations were as described - bohemian and eclectic. Very Florida Keys lifestyle. It is a little bit like camping but more like living on a boat. Most of their clients are boaters and boaters are used to coping with living in smaller quarters. Each cottage is different. Some are larger and some are smaller. We spoke to a woman that described her cottage as very boat like. The bathroom is so small that the shower is above the toilet. When you take a shower the entire bathroom gets soaked just like on a boat.

This is our combination sink and stove. Only the front burner worked. We did the rest of our cooking on the BBQ grill.

The only third world challenge we experienced is lack of ice. My one suggestion is for the resort is to provide ice for sale. The mini fridge is so small we used the cooler they supplied but then you need ice. The only time I left the property was to buy ice.

This is our mini fridge. We also used the separate cooler for additional items.

In keeping with the nautical theme of the resort there is an old retractable keel leaning again our back fence.

In addition to all the nautical toys your can borrow a bike or two any time.

We took one last walk down to the beach to say good by to the staff. They made our visit very special. The wind shifted to the NE and blew all the sea grass ashore. The forecast is for very blowy conditions for the next several days. We had the best weather of the week. Lucky us.

Check out time is 10 am and we are making progress to comply. Jack is down at the beach doing some last minute fishing. We will stop at one of our favorite waterfront restaurants, Guanabanas in Jupiter, on the way home. The Stuart part of Jackson’s spring break begins today.

A final view of our cottage before we head north. We had the left side. The picnic table and grill were shared. It was a nice way to get to meet the neighbors.
